Magazine Tour Advert

This is the magazine tour advert. I tried to adhere to typical tour adverts of this genre by using small venues and a dark colour scheme. However the first one I made was needed social media links as it would make the poster more realistic and from my research of tour adverts social media links are included.

Digipak

This is the original album cover I had made however I think that the second one was better suited to the colour scheme of my digipak better and so I changed it to the one seen below.

This is the digipak I made for our band Enemy's Song's album which I have titled 'In The Dark' , from my research I found that digipaks usually consist of 4 panels and I adhered to the general structure of the panels.

Final Music Video: Half Remain by Enemy's Song

This is the final cut of our music video! We have taken on board the suggestions from our audience feedback and finished the video.
Here it is:

Audience Feedback Before and After

Before the we began to edit the final version of our music video, we decided to get people to watch what we had done so far and give us their feedback on what they liked and what they think we should improve on, to aid us in our editing of the final product. This video explains the comments we have received and how we will alter our video based on what the audience has said.

After we finished our final version of our video we held a showcase to premier our video to a wider audience. We produced and gave out a questionnaire to fill out after they watched the video at the showcase and we also made another questionnaire to give out to a range of people to get a wider range of responses from different ages.

We also used Twitter as a way to get people who have seen our video to respond if they were unable to attend our showcase.

Analysis of similar media products

1. Panic At The Disco- This is Gospel

The opening shots of this video greatly inspired our music video because we took the idea of having the vocalist lying down still whilst things were going on around them and we did this in the outside shots with our female vocalist. We thought this was effective because the vocalist held the camera's eye and did not look away- this relates to Goodwin's idea of star quality as we wanted to promote the artist by using intimate angles/close up shots and getting her to look directly to the camera.

2. Maroon 5- MAPS

This video inspired our editing as we edited our music video in a similar order to the one in the maps video which is in reverse order. This was effective because it did not illustrate the narrative in a chronological order which is typically done in most music videos, but started from the present, went to past then back to the present.

3. Paramore Decode

This video is similar to our music video because it uses and an outside/nature location and it is also the same band of our chosen song. The location is a convention of rock music videos and we adhered to that by shooting our video in a forest, however unlike decode we did not have shots of a band playing live which is also a convention of rock music videos.

Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is a "rule of thumb" or guideline which applies to the process of composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings and paragraphs. The guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.http://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds/

This shot was taken from our music video footage and in this shot we positioned the vocalist to the side of the frame to give lead space and make the shot more interesting.

Filming in the forest

Our group went to Trent Park to film our music video, we decided that an outside location would be better for our concept to show isolation and abandonment. Here are some shots of the location and our shooting schedule we produced to keep our filming organised.
